About Innovar o Morir

Innovar o Morir (“Innovate or Die”) is an independent digital publication, available in Spanish and English, dedicated to explaining how innovation actually works: the methods, the tools and the evidence behind them. It has been online since October 2020 and is edited by Milthon Lujan Monja from Nuevo Chimbote, Peru.

Our purpose is to make knowledge about innovation accessible. The methodologies large corporations use to create products, improve processes and solve complex problems should not be reserved for those who can afford a consultancy. Here we explain them in full, for free.

What we publish

In-depth, applicable guides on innovation and creativity in business. Our content covers five areas:

  • Creativity and problem solving — TRIZ, the 5 Whys, analogical thinking, ideation techniques and creative potential assessment.
  • Business innovation — innovation strategy, business models, open innovation, technology intelligence, social innovation.
  • Process improvement and operational excellence — Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, TIMWOODS, Kaikaku, the Shingo Model.
  • Technology — Industry 4.0, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence applied to business.
  • Education and entrepreneurship — educational innovation, hackathons, funding and venture capital.

These methodologies are not ends in themselves: they are instruments for innovating and creating. That thread connects everything we publish.

How we work

Every guide is built on peer-reviewed scientific literature and primary sources, cited explicitly at the end of each article. When we state that a methodology reduces defects or speeds up a process, we identify the study the figure comes from.

We write for people who need to apply, not just understand. That is why our guides include concrete steps, examples and common pitfalls rather than isolated definitions.

Articles are updated as the evidence changes. The last modified date is visible on every post.
